What is COVID-19?

COVID-19 is caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The virus, which can cause mild to severe respiratory illness, was first identified in Wuhan, China, and has spread globally. There is limited information available about illness associated with COVID-19. It likely spreads to others when a person shows signs or symptoms of being sick (e.g., fever, coughing, difficulty breathing, etc.). However, it is also believed that people can be contagious but show no symptoms of the disease.

Exer offers two different types of COVID-19 tests. You need a referral from VirtualCare by Exer or from any Exer clinic.

Nasal Swab Test

ABOUT

The PCR (nasal swab) test shows if you are actively infected with the COVID-19 virus.

METHODOLOGY

The test is self-administered by the patient in their car with the assistance of an Exer provider.

WHEN TO TAKE THE TEST

For the best test results, patients should be a minimum of 14 days free of symptoms or have not had any COVID-19 symptoms at all.
